I had such a memorable time in San Francisco recently. Not only was it Fleet Week, where the U.S. military gets to show off it’s latest & greatest, but it was also Laurie & Reid’s engagement session as well. I personally have been to the city of San Francisco numerous times over the years, but I’ve never seen anything like this… the city was literally buzzing, actually “thundering” was more like it! I’ve never done a shoot where I had to yell to make myself heard above screaming fighter jets. That aside, there were many times when I thought that they made the moment even MORE powerful!
All of this added up to an energetic, fun afternoon! It was a joy to capture intimate moments and striking images of Laurie & Reid… which was actually REALLY easy. The excitement and enthusiasm that flows from the people I photograph really enhances my own ability to be creative and push the limits. On this day, there was NO lack of excitement or enthusiasm!
We started shooting in the Financial District, found some awesome spots (and some sore feet!)… what can I say, Laurie was a trooper in her high heels after what seemed like a 30 block walk! From there we drove around the city, dodging traffic and tourists. We found a killer spot with a nice city view and then eventually settled down at Crissy Field for a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. I personally can’t wait for this couple’s wedding in June of next year!
