Huntington Gardens Engagement Session | Pasadena, Ca

Here’s an amazing engagement session that I photographed last Fall! Due to the insanity of my schedule, I’m just now getting the chance to share some amazing shoots from 2015. I photographed Daisy & Aaron’s engagement session at the beautiful Huntington Gardens in San Marina, CA (near Pasadena) on a pristine Fall day. I really enjoyed capturing the energy, playfulness and overall fashion/editorial vibe that they were after.

After burning some calories over at the Gardens we set off for Pasadena’s infamous City Hall. Throw in some James Bond attire, a Doberman and a few other elements and you’ve got a pretty successful formula for a fun time. Take a look at a few below! Cheers to the wonderful couple. Santa Monica Beach Engagement Session

A couple Sunday’s ago I spent the afternoon with this energetic, fun-loving couple in Santa Monica, CA. We toured the area exploring the art deco architecture on Ocean Ave., brick wall exteriors and other interesting local features that makes Santa Monica desirable worldwide… along with the sparkling Pacific Ocean of course. Jonathan Beach Club | Santa Monica, Ca

I’ve had the great fortune of photographing some incredibly fun events this year!

High on that list was Kirsten & Nils’ Santa Monica, Jonathan Beach Club wedding. On a beach-perfect summer day, I began shooting at the elegant Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Marina del Rey. There’s never any difficulty getting inspired about photographing a wedding while breathing in salty ocean air against the backdrop of a fleet of yachts….while sipping on a margarita (ok, there wasn’t a margarita). After an emotional first look, we made our way to a nearby park in a tour bus that put all others to shame, complete with wet bar.

The ceremony took place at the historic Saint Monica’s Church in the heart of Santa Monica, CA, which made for a beautiful setting with it’s cathedral ceilings and stately columns. From there it was time to get the real party started at the well-heeled (substitute with flip-flop) Jonathan Beach Club. The dinner and festivities were held right on the sand, with a front row seat to the shoreline. Planner Samantha Sisk, with La Bella Dia did an impeccable job bringing the various elements together to maximize every detail of this stunning event. The energy, playfulness and joy of this couple was evident right from the beginning and I truly enjoyed being a part of such an incredible day!

Athenaeum Wedding at Caltech | Pasadena, Ca

On Independence Day earlier in the month, I had the pleasure of capturing a different type of celebration at the beautiful Athenaeum Club at California Institute of Technology. I was invited to photograph Amy & Richard’s meaningful wedding day; rich with tradition and touching moments. Please take a few moments and enjoy some imagery from this wonderful wedding!

Leo Carrillo State Beach | Malibu, Ca

A few days ago I met up with Sandy & Lee on California’s Pacific Coast Highway for their beachy engagement session. On a day that looked as though it might starting pouring summer rain at any moment, we persevered through the uncertainty and really had a successful session… and the questionable weather provided some really great skies toward the end. The energy, playfulness and obvious love for each other easily translated into many fun, unique and memorable moments captured. Please enjoy a few images below!

Temple Beth Am Wedding | Los Angeles Ca

As a photographer, I enjoy telling each couple’s unique story with my camera. Those intimate and timeless moments captured are the drive my passion for doing this job I love. So, when Alissa invited me to join her wedding day festivities with my camera, I was delighted. One glimpse at these images and it is clear that this beautiful day held all of the necessary elements for a truly great story.

The day began in Santa Monica, CA where we captured Alissa and Zach’s transition from a glowing couple to a stunning bride and groom. A nearby commercial area helped to set the scene with water features, reflective buildings and eclectic shapes and angles. It was in this space where I was able to really engage with the Alissa and Zach and see the energy and love contained within this couple as their family and friends surrounded them.

From there it was off to Temple Beth Am, in Los Angeles, CA. The temple’s central location on La Cienega Blvd., is just a stones throw away from many notable Beverly Hills landmarks. I have always loved photographing weddings at this temple, especially with its rich history and ornate sanctuary. All in all a perfect setting for Alissa and Zach’s ceremony and party festivities.

Santa Monica Airport Engagement Session

I recently spent a fun-filled, sun-splashed day in Santa Monica, California with Laura & Steven. This engagement session was definitely a break from the norm! We started shooting at the Santa Monica Airport where Steven keeps his Mooney m20j resting between flights. Of course this was just the beginning…once we added his cherry 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner into the mix, my mind was as they say: blown. Fortunately however, I could still hold a camera and focus. The best part about all of this is that even despite the attention grabbing toys, Laura & Steven literally stole the show. Laura looked radiant in a vintage looking ensemble, and Steven, of course, was looking quite dapper in his own right. From there we took off and made our way down the iconic PCH and stopped at the coast, right near the Getty Villa to end our fun session. I can’t wait for this couple’s wedding in October! Mandeville Canyon Engagement Session | Brentwood, Ca

About a week ago I was able to spend some time with Kirsten, Nils and their adorable retriever Midas for their L.A./Beach engagement session. We wandered along the sands of Santa Monica and made our way up to Mandeville Canyon which offered some spectacular views… and flying pests. In the end, Kirsten & Nils endured the little trials and the result clearly speaks for itself. I seriously can’t wait for this couples August wedding in… you guessed it, Santa Monica!

The Parker Wedding | Palm Springs, Ca

Palm Springs, California. The name alone incites visions of pristine golf courses, fine dining, luxury spas and on this November day… an intimate wedding for Julie & Joe at The Parker resort. I personally always enjoy leaving the smog-filled L.A. skyline in the rearview mirror and setting out East on the 10 where blue skies and balmy weather are never usually in short supply. Ironically, on this particular weekend, Southern California actually got a little wet. Fortunately for Julie & Joe, the only substantial affect was an incredibly dramatic skyline towards the end of the day. To summarize this wedding would be the word: Family. It was really special for me to have the opportunity to get behind the scenes and capture a ton of meaningful moments for Julie & Joe… so go ahead and take a look at a few below!

Rodeo Drive Engagement Session| Beverly Hills, Ca

I truly had the pleasure of spending a gorgeous Sunday afternoon with Cecile & Rony for their engagement session in Beverly Hills, CA. I actually photographed this over the summer and thought it would be great to post a few images in light of their wedding this coming weekend. We started shooting near Bouchon restaurant off of N. Canon Drive and eventually made our way out to the famous stretch of Rodeo to finish the session. An engagement session is a wonderful way for me to really connect with my couples prior to the big day… this was no different. I really felt the joy, warmth and passion that this couple shares and I can’t wait for their wedding this Sunday at the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City.
